Be Part of History: Join the Bridge of the Gods Centennial Celebration Volunteer Staff!

We are looking for volunteers for the Bridge of the Gods Centennial Celebration, which is set for Saturday, September 19th from 12 to 8pm at the Marine Park in Cascade Locks, OR.

Volunteers receive these great rewards, which may be collected at the Info Booth prior to or after their shift:

Free camping on Thunder Island on Saturday night. Opens at 8am. Staff will give volunteers a wristband.
Free parking.
Five (5) tickets for the raffle at 5pm on Saturday.
Free ride on the Sternwheeler boat!

How you can help:

Task: Festival Set Up (Saturday 7:30—11am) Meet at the Pavilion Building in the Marine Park (10 people total)

Join a team of people who are handy and can swing a sledgehammer to help put up our fencing, move materials, help set up stage gear, move tables, etc. It’s best to bring gloves, but we will have some to loan out. Sponsors will be able to set up their booths on their own for the most part, but volunteers are asked to help out if needed.

Task: Festival Site Breakdown (Sunday 8-11am) (10 people total)

Clean up the general area. Assist sponsors with packing up if needed. Collect booth space stakes and take down and pack up fencing. If trash is found at a booth space, please discard the items accordingly, (recycling / trash / etc.)

Task: Camping Access & Bridge Monitor (6 people total)

You will be at the footbridge leading to the camping area on Thunder Island and checking wristbands to allow volunteers to camp. No grills, kegs, stereos or dogs/pets (that aren’t service animals.) Unlike PCT DAYS, there is no camping for festival attendees, (volunteers, coordinators, and sponsors only.) This task requires two (2) people for each time slot, so you will be with someone during your shift.

Sat 12:00 noon – 4:00 pm
Sat 4:00 – 8:00 pm

Task: Festival Entrance Monitor – Front Gate Info Booth (6 people total)

You will be greeting attendees, checking in volunteers, answering questions, and making sure no one enters or exits the gate with alcohol. This task requires two (2) people for each time slot, who will be with the FISH food bank staff to help with the collection. Check in volunteers for shifts.

Sat 7:30 am – 12:00 noon (closed until 12 noon – keep attendees out; only sponsors, festival staff and volunteers may enter) (1 person needed)
Sat 12:00 noon – 4:00 pm
Sat 4:00 – 8:00 pm

Task: Festival Entrance Monitor - Back Gate & Parking (3 people total)

Friday am shift volunteers will be greeting sponsors and directing them where to go in their vehicles for booth set up and where to park once they set up their booth. Make sure no one enters or exits the gate with alcohol. Each shift one person.
