Project Overview: Proposed RV Park
The Port of Cascade Locks is currently assessing the potential for a new RV park as part of its ongoing commitment to economic stewardship and regional vitality. This discovery phase is focused on evaluating whether the project can create a self-sustaining revenue stream for public assets, support downtown businesses through increased overnight tourism, and ensure Port-owned land is utilized in a way that respects the community. By exploring these possibilities, the Port aims to determine if this development is a viable tool for enhancing local infrastructure while preserving the character of the Columbia River Gorge.

Following the recent Open House, the Port is in a critical information-gathering and review period. No final decision has been made to move forward with the project. If you were unable to attend the recent Open House, please see the infographics below. These data sets are among the key factors being weighed as the Port evaluates the future of the proposed RV park.

The proposed development would establish a campground and RV park with more than 100 sites. The Port is exploring this project to help address growing demand for overnight accommodations in the Columbia River Gorge, support local businesses, and ensure Port-owned land is used in a way that benefits the Cascade Locks community.

The Decision-Making Process
The Port Commission is committed to a transparent process. The feedback provided during the Open House and through online channels is currently being synthesized into a report.
Important Note: This project is still in the pre-decisional phase. The Port is listening to the community to discern the best path forward. Your voice is a vital weighing factor in the Commission's deliberation.
“We want to hear from residents, business owners, and visitors about what they value and what is important to them” said Jeremiah Blue, Port Executive Director. “Public input will help inform how this project is developed and operated, and we encourage everyone with an interest in the future of Cascade Locks to attend and participate.”

How to Stay Informed
While the formal open house has concluded, transparency remains a priority as the Port continues to weigh all options. You can stay informed and participate in this discovery phase by emailing Executive Director Jeremiah Blue at jblue@portofcascadelocks.gov, submitting your thoughts through our online feedback form, or sending written comments via standard mail to PO Box 307, Cascade Locks, OR 97014.
